The destination this year: Lumut, Perak.
At the ceremony, Dato’ Mustamir was accompanied by Encik Ami Akhram Abdullah, Director of M&E, Sime UMW and Encik Badrul Rahman, Chairman of Kelab UMW. The morning began on a positive note, with Dato’ Mustamir emphasising the purpose of Kelab UMW: fostering balance, well-being and camaraderie among employees.
The drive to Lumut unfolded with a meaningful blend of teamwork, problem-solving and shared experience. Beyond the excitement of the hunt, its true purpose was to strengthen bonds within the organisation, a point underscored by Dato’ Mustamir’s reminder that employee wellness is key to a harmonious and productive Sime UMW.
Grantt Lubricants came back as a sponsor after a brief hiatus last year. Encik Ami highlighted Grantt’s role within the broader Sime UMW family and its commitment to the same values of unity and support. One of the hunt’s key tasks brought participants to a Grantt workshop, offering them a closer look at the brand’s operations and standards behind its “Move Further, Last Longer” promise. Throughout the journey, participants demonstrated collaboration and steady determination despite changing weather and challenging tasks. The hunt served as a practical reflection of what both leaders emphasised: that success within Sime UMW is built on cooperation, shared purpose and mutual support.
Three teams who grabbed podium positions were Ayam Masak Merah from Assembly Services Sdn Bhd (ASSB), which secured first place, followed by Team Big Fish from Toyota Boshoku UMW Sdn Bhd (TBU) in second and Daging Salai Masak Lemak from Assembly Services Sdn Bhd (ASSB) in third. Their achievements added a fitting end to a well-run event.
The Motor Hunt closed on a high, positive note, reinforcing the importance of collective spirit ang engagement beyond the workplace. It was a reminder that when employees journey together, in work or on the road, the organisation moves forward with greater strength.
